Susie's studio is situated in a converted heritage railway building on the Fife coast of Scotland. Looking out across a wild flower meadow and harbour with a stunning view across the water to Edinburgh. All of her handmade textiles are woven and finished in the studio.
Susie integrates traditional basket making materials such as willow, bark and raw flax with loom woven linen and paper to create sculptural vessels and wall hangings and screens.
Susie is committed to sustainability and regenerative practice. She is concerned about the provenance of yarn used, taking care to use organic yarns where possible and from as local sources as possible.
